Ravi Nathwani
PRINCIPAL DENTIST

Ravi has been the principal dentist at Littleover Dental Practice after taking over in 2011 and working alongside Don Stazicker and Jane Burton, the previous owners. Don and Jane retired in December 2015 and we wish them the best of luck during their retirement.
In the time that Ravi has owned the practice he has made some significant improvements. He has installed new digital X-ray technology, obtaining intraoral images in an instant. He has introduced a fully paperless record and recall system, obtained Denplan Excel accreditation, a highly regarded achievement setting the team exacting standards for patient care and clinical governance and has even been nominated for the Young Dentist of the Year 2012 and a finalist twice in 2018. Alongside all of this he has carried out extra training at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London in restorative dentistry to enhance his skillset and has been awarded with a Dental Phobia recognition.
He has taken Littleover Dental Practice to new heights with a large refurbishment and extension which completed in November 2018, all to create a lovely environment for our patients to be treated.
Ravi takes pride in using minimally invasive dentistry, which helps to put nervous patients at ease. He has had a breadth of experience with patients who have a lifelong fear of visiting the dentist who now will only come to visit him, with patients travelling from far across the country, even abroad.
Most recently, Ravi has been appointed Chairman of the Local Dental Committee of Derby City, which keeps him at the forefront of the dental care provision in the area.
Jennifer Goldney

Jenny studied Dentistry at the University of Leeds and graduated with Merit in 2011. Since then, she has gained a wealth of experience working in practices in both Huddersfield and Nottingham before finally settling at Littleover Dental Practice in 2016.
Since graduating, Jenny has continued to further her training and has gained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Jenny is continuously learning and increasing her experience, and is currently enrolled on a year long Aesthetic Dentistry course. She enjoys helping people to improve their smiles, using the most up to date and minimally invasive techniques available. This includes being a certified provider of Invisalign, Inman Aligner and Clear Smile fixed braces. In 2018 she was recognised for her orthodontic work by being nominated for an award with the Academy for Intelligent Alignment systems. In 2023 Jenny Gained a Post graduate diploma in Clear Aligner therapy
Alongside this Jenny provides tooth whitening and composite bonding to transform the appearance, shape and shade of teeth for her patients. This provides her patients with an increased confidence in their smile and therefore the overall appearance.
Jenny has a caring and gentle approach to dentistry that makes her patients feel at ease. Her relaxed nature has allowed many patients previously put off dentistry to regain their confidence and achieve their goals. She enjoys working with both children and adults.
In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her friends and family.
SEAMUS O'DONOVAN

Seamus received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at the University College Cork in 1986. Seamus worked at a family practice in Reading from 1986 until he moved to Derby in 2001 where he and his wife Sarah took over the existing practice on Whitaker Road, Derby. They ran this practice together until the end of 2018 and have now become part of the practice here on Littleover Lane. Outside of work Seamus loves to spend time with his family and enjoys baking. He makes a mouth-watering mince pie!
USMAAN KHAN

Usmaan qualified from the University of Manchester in 2020 and worked in Birmingham before joining us at Littleover Dental Practice. He is passionate for good quality dentistry and building good relationships with his patients. He is currently gaining membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in England with a view to enrol in a postgraduate diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative dentistry. Following the most up-to-date evidence and using the best materials and technology, he is able to provide the best level of care possible whilst still maintaining a minimally invasive approach.
He endeavours to ensure all his patients feel at ease with his calm and reassuring manor, explaining his care in the clearest way possible.
Outside of work, Usmaan enjoys playing and following football, exploring new places, spending time with his family and trips out to the cinema.
LYDIA ROULSTON

Lydia graduated in 2014 from the University of Central Lancashire, and has recently returned to work after the birth of her second child.
Lydia knows the area well; she lived and went to school in Littleover.
Lydia enjoys the variety of being a General Dental Practitioner and has a passion for educating patients so they can achieve and maintain their best oral health.
Outside of work Lydia enjoys taking care of her young family, making the most of sunny days mountain biking with her husband and children as well as tending to the veg plot in their garden.
She will initially be here on Wednesdays and her appointment book is now open.

ALI HYDER SHORO

Ali qualified with a Dental degree from CEU Cardinal Herrera University Spain in 2020, where he spent five years studying and living.
He lives in Sheffield and is devoted in providing high quality treatments in general, family and aesthetics dentistry.
Ali offers general dental treatment including cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry including Invisalign.
Ali is extremely ambitious and is working to provide all aspects of cosmetic dentistry to new and existing patients.
Outside the dental practice, he enjoys sending time with his family and friends.
He also loves learning new languages. He can speak Spanish, Urdu and Sindhi.
Ali also loves working out at the gym, boxing, playing tennis and loves exploring new places.

Pam qualified as a Dental Hygienist from the University of Manchester in 1995. Since qualifying she has worked in both private and NHS dental practices.
Pam enjoys getting to know her patients and aims to keep their teeth, gums and their general wellbeing healthy and happy. Outside of work pam enjoys travelling, spending time with her family and friends and participating in local charity events.

Jan has worked in dentistry for over 20 years beginning her career here at Littleover dental practice. Jan qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2008, having successfully completed her National Diploma in Dental Nursing at Derby Royal hospital and has worked locally in a private practice for 16 years.

Dawn mifsud
HEAD RECEPTIONIST
With over 30 years' experience Dawn is our Head of Reception. Dawn began in Dentistry at the age of 17 as a dental nurse in Worthing, West Sussex and was practice manager when she left to relocate to Essex. Her career has included working as a dental receptionist in Harley Street and at Lister House in Wimpole Street.
Before relocating to Derbyshire, Dawn worked as a postgraduate course administrator for Eastman CPD Dental Hospital at UCL for 10 years.
Dawn joined Littleover Dental Practice with the Whitaker Road team where she worked for 3 years.

BETH FOX
SENIOR DENTAL NURSE

Beth has recently joined us at the practice in January 2023. Having qualified as a Dental Nurse back in 2019, she has since gained her Radiography Qualification which has enabled her to take X-rays prescribed by a Dentist. She also has experience in taking Clinical Photography and also the use of the iTero scanner which is used to capture pictures inside the mouth that creates a 3D model. Beth has previously worked at Private Practices’ and has gained over 5 years of experience within dentistry working in Surgery and on Reception.
Beth enjoys getting to know patient’s and making them feel at ease during their visit.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, baking different types of foods and taking long walks at the Peak District.

Anna joined us in 1997 as a qualified Dental Nurse, after a couple of years she qualified as a Dental Health Educator, followed by taking on the Radiography Qualification. In 2013 Anna got to grips with legislation, so spends a lot of time behind the scenes in the office. However alongside this, you will see Anna on reception at times, and in surgeries where needed. After the extension of the practice in 2018 Anna was promoted to Practice Manager. We look forward to Anna growing in this role.

Sarah joined the practice aged 15 as a trainee dental nurse. She attended the course of National Diploma for Dental Nurses. After 2 years as a qualified nurse she went on to complete Dental Radiography, which enables her to take x-rays when prescribed by the dentist.
After 10 years she had a year away from the practice to work in Adelaide Dental Hospital, Australia assisting dental students.
She now holds the position of Treatment Co-ordinator and Impression taking.
